Chinese Special Envoy to Attend Ghana’s Presidential Inauguration

The Chinese mainland is strengthening its diplomatic ties with West Africa as Hao Mingjin, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, will attend the inauguration of John Dramani Mahama as president of Ghana.

Scheduled for January 7 in Accra, the ceremony marks a significant moment for Ghana, following Mahama's election victory declared by the Electoral Commission of Ghana on December 9, 2024.

The presence of Hao Mingjin underscores the ongoing collaboration and mutual interests between the Chinese mainland and Ghana, reinforcing China's role in supporting emerging democracies and fostering international partnerships.
