In a reaffirmation of enduring diplomatic relations, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the continuation of China’s long-standing tradition of initiating the year-round overseas visits with a trip to Africa.
Speaking in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, Wang Yi met with President-elect Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and highlighted that this practice has been a steadfast element of China’s foreign policy for the past 35 years. \"We hope that by upholding the tradition, we can show the world that no matter how the international and regional situation changes, China will always be the most credible friend of our brothers and sisters in Africa,\" Wang stated.
Wang Yi also underscored the importance of strengthening unity and cooperation between China and Africa. He emphasized that jointly safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries aligns with historical justice, the current global trends, and the shared aspirations of the 2.8 billion people in China and Africa.
This annual tradition not only reinforces China’s commitment to Africa’s development and revitalization but also positions China as a dependable partner in the international arena, ensuring sustained collaboration and mutual growth.
