Shandong Dominates China Table Tennis Super League, Wins Both Titles

The China Table Tennis Super League saw a stellar performance from Shandong clubs as Shandong Luneng and Shandong Weiqiao clinched the women's and men's team titles respectively on Wednesday.

In a thrilling women's team final, Shandong Luneng edged out Shenzhen University with a close 3-2 victory. Olympic champion Sun Yingsha played a pivotal role, holding her two points to secure the win. Chen Xingtong and Qian Tianyi were standout performers, earning the Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards in the singles and doubles events.

The women's showdown lived up to expectations, with Shandong and Shenzhen emerging as the top contenders after the round-robin first stage. Chen and Qian set the tone for Shandong with a strong start, rallying from one game down to defeat Qin Yuxuan and Kuai Man 5-11, 11-7, 11-5, 13-11.

Sun Yingsha intensified the competition by securing a full-game victory over her Olympic teammate Wang Manyu, restoring parity in the match. Shandong maintained their lead as Chen outplayed Kuai 11-8, 11-5, 7-11, 11-7, while Sun kept Shenzhen's hopes alive with another 3-2 win over Qian.

The decisive match between Wang and Qin extended to a fifth game, with Wang emerging victorious at 11-7, sealing the championship for Shandong Luneng.

Wang commented, \"Both teams went all out. I'm worthy of recognition for winning the deciding match.\"

Despite the loss, Sun praised her teammates, saying, \"Everyone did her best, though Qin came up short in the fifth set, she also displayed the vitality of a young player.\"
