At a gathering held by China's top political advisory body, Chinese leader Xi Jinping stressed the importance of maintaining strategic resolve and staying united to build a stronger nation.
\"On the journey of Chinese modernization, we will not only encounter clear skies and gentle breezes but also face high winds, choppy waters, and even dangerous storms,\" Xi remarked. \"We must maintain strategic resolve and pool the great strength of all Chinese people striving in unity to cut through the waves and forge ahead with courage.\"
Reflecting on 2024, Xi highlighted China's calm and effective response to both domestic and international challenges, successfully meeting major economic and social development targets.
The year has been marked by extraordinary progress, reinforcing the country's determination and confidence in advancing modernization, Xi noted.

\"We must ensure the high-quality fulfillment of the goals and tasks of the 14th Five-Year Plan to lay a solid foundation for a good start to the 15th Five-Year Plan,\" he emphasized.
Xi also lauded the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) for its contributions over the past year, urging the body to actively offer suggestions and garner public support.
The gathering was presided over by Wang Huning, with other Party and state leaders, including Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, and Han Zheng, in attendance.
