President Xi Meets Former Macao SAR Leaders to Discuss Future Development

In a significant meeting on Thursday afternoon, Chinese President Xi Jinping engaged with Ho Hau Wah and Chui Sai On, the former chief executives of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).

Ho Hau Wah also serves as the vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, highlighting his influential role in national affairs.

Reflecting on the 25 years since Macao's return to the motherland, President Xi emphasized the remarkable transformations the region has undergone. He praised the accomplishments of Macao under the \"One Country, Two Systems\" framework, noting its thriving economy and stable society.

President Xi commended Ho and Chui for their steadfast leadership during their tenures, particularly in safeguarding national security and maintaining Macao's prosperity and stability. Their efforts, he stated, have laid a solid foundation for the region's long-term development.

Looking ahead, President Xi expressed his hope that Ho and Chui will lend their support to the incoming chief executive and the new term of the Macao SAR government. He encouraged them to administer the region in accordance with the law and continue contributing to the stable and sustained practice of the \"One Country, Two Systems\" policy.

In response, both Ho Hau Wah and Chui Sai On pledged their full support to the incoming chief executive and the new Macao SAR government. They committed to uniting and leading the people of Macao to embark on a new chapter of development, ensuring continued growth and stability for the region.
