A spokesperson for the China Coast Guard (CCG) briefed the media on Tuesday regarding the recent activities involving a Philippine civilian vessel at Ren'ai Jiao in the South China Sea.
Liu Dejun, the CCG spokesperson, stated that with China's permission, the Philippines dispatched a civilian vessel on Thursday to deliver supplies to its military ship, which was reportedly grounded illegally on Ren'ai Jiao. The CCG actively inquired about and verified the mission details, maintaining close monitoring of the Philippine vessel throughout the operation.
Liu expressed hope that the Philippines would honor its commitments and collaborate with China to effectively manage the maritime situation. Emphasizing cooperation, the CCG committed to continuing its law enforcement activities to safeguard rights in China's Nansha Qundao and the surrounding waters, including Ren'ai Jiao.
This development underscores the ongoing efforts to maintain maritime stability and ensure the safe passage of vessels in the strategically important South China Sea.
