Breaking Boundaries: World’s Largest FPSO Vessel Embarks on Historic Voyage from East China

In a landmark event on Monday, the world's largest floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, the M026 FPSO, set sail from a bustling dock in Qidong City, Jiangsu Province, marking a new tonnage towing record along the Yangtze River.

Stretching an impressive 335.31 meters in length, 60 meters wide, and towering at 33.515 meters in height, the M026 FPSO is a marvel of modern engineering. Accompanied by a formidable convoy that spans 784.2 meters, including patrol boats, tugboats, and escort vessels, this giant vessel symbolizes a significant milestone in maritime logistics.

Constructed by COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Offshore Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., the M026 FPSO is set to play a pivotal role in an ultra-deep-water oil development project off the coast of Brazil. Dubbed a \"floating refinery,\" it boasts the capacity to produce 180,000 barrels of oil daily, process 12 million standard cubic meters of natural gas, and store up to 1.4 million barrels of crude oil.

With its unparalleled tonnage and storage capabilities, the M026 FPSO holds the record for the largest and highest storage capacity in its class. This groundbreaking vessel not only advances the frontiers of offshore oil production but also underscores the innovative prowess of its creators, positioning it as a cornerstone in the global energy landscape.
