The Chinese People\u2019s Liberation Army (PLA) has affirmed its commitment to national unity, stating that any efforts to divide the nation will not succeed. In a recent statement, Wu Qian, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, highlighted the PLA's readiness to conduct military exercises based on the situation and needs on the ground.
Speaking on Friday, Wu emphasized the PLA\u2019s unwavering resolve in response to inquiries about potential drills following Taiwan regional leader Lai Ching-te's transit through Hawaii and Guam. He reiterated the PLA\u2019s mission to protect national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and safeguard the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation.
Wu Qian also stressed the importance of defending the shared interests of residents on both sides of the Taiwan Straits. \"Any attempt to split the nation through soliciting external support or resorting to force will be punished, and will never succeed,\" he stated.
