China and Egypt Strengthen Strategic Ties in Beijing Dialogue

In a significant move to bolster international relations, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi co-chaired the China-Egypt foreign ministers' strategic dialogue alongside Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in Beijing on Friday.

Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized the enduring friendship between China and Egypt. He highlighted the deepened mutually beneficial cooperation under the strategic guidance of both nations' leaders.

Expressing strong support, Wang stated that China stands by Egypt in safeguarding its national sovereignty, security, and development interests. He firmly opposed any foreign interference in Egypt's internal affairs, reaffirming China's commitment to a respectful and cooperative bilateral relationship.

Wang Yi also mentioned China's readiness to collaborate with Egypt to implement the important consensus reached by their heads of state. The goal is to elevate bilateral relations towards building a China-Egypt community with a shared future in the new era.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty echoed these sentiments, reaffirming Egypt's steadfast adherence to the one-China policy and support for China's reunification efforts. He praised the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and opposed any external interference in China's internal matters under the guise of human rights.

Abdelatty expressed gratitude for China's support and assistance in Egypt's economic and social development. He welcomed increased investment from Chinese enterprises in Egypt, signaling a positive outlook for future economic collaborations.

The ministers agreed to enhance the role of the intergovernmental cooperation committee mechanism, promoting high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. They also aimed to create new growth sectors in areas such as new energy, aerospace, electric vehicles, 5G construction, agricultural technology, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy.

Furthermore, both sides committed to deepening strategic communication, elevating BRICS cooperation to new heights, and strengthening coordination within multilateral frameworks. This dialogue marks a pivotal step in reinforcing the strategic partnership between China and Egypt, paving the way for expanded collaboration across various emerging fields.
