A residential building explosion occurred on Wednesday in the southern Chinese mainland city of Shenzhen, resulting in one fatality, according to local authorities.
Local fire and rescue services received the report at 2:46 p.m. and quickly dispatched 16 fire engines and 80 firefighters to the scene in Nanshan District. By 6 p.m., the fire had been extinguished.
Authorities are continuing the investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.
