The Chinese mainland's new-energy passenger vehicle market continued its impressive growth trajectory in November, with retail sales reaching nearly 1.27 million units, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
This surge represents a 50.5% increase compared to the same month last year and a 5.9% rise from October, highlighting the robust demand for sustainable transportation solutions. Production figures also climbed, with approximately 1.48 million new-energy vehicles manufactured in November, marking a 49.3% year-on-year growth and a 7.1% month-on-month increase.
New-energy vehicles are becoming increasingly popular among consumers, with the penetration rate in the domestic market rising to 52.3% last month. This trend underscores the growing shift towards environmentally friendly mobility options.
Over the first eleven months of the year, total retail sales of new-energy passenger cars in the Chinese mainland reached 9.59 million units, reflecting a substantial 41.2% increase from the previous year. On the export front, approximately 80,000 new-energy vehicles were shipped last month, a slight decline of 6.3% year-on-year. However, total exports from January to November increased by 24.6%, totaling around 1.17 million units.
