The match kicked off with the host nation's star duo, Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha, facing off against South Korea's Cho Dae-seong and Shin Yu-bin in the mixed doubles. Both pairs delivered intense performances from the outset. Wang and Sun secured the first game 11-9, but Cho and Shin rallied back to tie the match 1-1 with a thrilling 19-17 second game.
Undeterred, Wang and Sun ramped up their aggression in the third game, dominating their opponents and winning 11-4. This set the tone for China, leading 2-1 in the gold medal contest.
Wang Manyu then took the stage in the women's singles match against South Korea's Kim Na-yeong. Demonstrating exceptional skill, Wang dismantled Kim's signature service, winning swiftly with scores of 11-3, 11-7, and 11-2. The men's singles saw China's Lin Shidong go head-to-head with Oh Jun-sung. Despite Oh's early lead in the third game, Lin maintained his composure, leveling the game at 6-6 before clinching the match with four consecutive points. Oh's final shot went out of bounds, sealing the victory for China.
