Beijing Winter Olympics champion Gu Ailing continued her dominance in freeskiing by winning the women's final at the FIS Freeski Halfpipe World Cup held in Chongli, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. With a stellar second run scoring 90.00 points, Gu secured her 16th World Cup victory, matching the all-time record held by French skier Tess Ledeux.
Her compatriot, Li Fanghui, showcased an impressive performance, finishing as the runner-up with 82.75 points in her first run. Both Chinese athletes calmly advanced through the single heat qualification round, with Gu leading the pack by achieving 89.50 points in her initial run.
Last season, Gu had already made her mark by winning four out of five World Cup starts. Despite a weather-affected event at Mammoth Mountain where she finished second, Gu remains a formidable force in the halfpipe scene.
International competitors like Canada's Amy Fraser and Great Britain's Zoe Atkin also delivered strong performances, positioning themselves among the top contenders in this season's World Cup circuit.
