China Secures Second Straight Victory at ITTF Mixed Team World Cup

China demonstrated their dominance at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Mixed Team World Cup in Chengdu, securing their second consecutive win in a single day. The competition, held in Sichuan Province, saw China achieve their sixth straight victory at the tournament.

Earlier on Thursday, China triumphed over South Korea with a score of 8-4. Following this, they faced Hong Kong SAR in a match that showcased their exceptional teamwork and skill. Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha teamed up for the mixed doubles match against Yiu Kwan To and Ng Wing Lam, delivering a commanding performance with victories of 11-4, 11-6, and 11-4. This pairing marked their first contest together since the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

\"I was a little concerned before the match,\" Wang told reporters after the victory. \"During practice, I told myself to recall the details I paid attention to when we played together in the mixed doubles match. Our performance tonight was better than I had expected.\"

\"It had been a long time since we paired at the Paris Olympics,\" Sun noted. \"We played well this time.\"

In the women's singles match, Wang Manyu was selected to compete against Doo Hoi Kem. The two had previously met in the round of 16 at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Cup Finals in Singapore in 2021, where Wang emerged victorious. This encounter ended swiftly with Wang securing wins at 11-8, 11-4, and 11-2.

Lin Shidong represented China in the men's singles match, maintaining his impeccable record by winning his sixth consecutive competition. He defeated Chan Baldwin with scores of 11-3 and 11-4, ensuring China's dominant position in the tournament.

Looking ahead, China is set to face Japan on Friday, continuing their strong performance in the ITTF Mixed Team World Cup.
