In a recent escalation of tensions, China has announced countermeasures against 13 U.S. military companies and six senior corporate executives. These measures, set to begin on December 5, are in response to the sale of arms to the Taiwan region.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry criticized the U.S. for violating the one-China principle and interfering in China's internal affairs by supporting Taiwan with military equipment. According to the ministry, such actions undermine China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized that the Taiwan question is central to China's core interests. He stated that the U.S.'s support for \"Taiwan secessionists\" through arms sales could lead to increased conflict and instability in the Taiwan Straits.
Lin also called on the U.S. to adhere to the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques, urging an immediate halt to arms sales to Taiwan. He stressed that China remains determined to oppose any moves towards Taiwan's secession and to achieve national reunification.
