Several Philippine vessels have been gathering illegally in the waters around Houteng Jiao in China's Nansha Qundao under the guise of fishing operations. In response, the China Coast Guard (CCG) has taken necessary control measures to address the situation, a CCG spokesperson announced on Monday.
The CCG has strongly urged the Philippines to immediately cease its provocative actions in the disputed waters. Spokesperson Liu Dejun emphasized that the Philippine vessels ignored prior warnings and dissuasion from the CCG, unlawfully congregating around Houteng Jiao. Additionally, these vessels were accompanied by media reporters who appeared to be staging scenes for publicity purposes.
