China’s Defense Ministry Condemns US Arms Sales to Taiwan

The Chinese Ministry of National Defense has strongly criticized the United States for its recent approval of $385 million in arms sales to the Taiwan region. Wu Qian, a spokesperson for the Ministry, described the actions as \\"always notorious,\\" accusing the U.S. of interfering in China's domestic affairs and undermining regional peace.

Wu stated that the U.S. move severely violates the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques, damaging China's sovereignty and security interests. He emphasized that the arms sales jeopardize peace and stability across the Taiwan Straits, expressing vehement dissatisfaction and firm opposition.

The spokesperson also condemned the Taiwan authorities' Democratic Progressive Party for seeking independence with U.S. support, warning that such actions would only lead to their own demise. Wu highlighted that the Taiwan question is fundamental to China-U.S. relations and urged the United States to cease all forms of arming Taiwan to preserve the overall relationship and military ties between the two nations.

He concluded by assuring that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army will continue to strengthen its military training and preparations to resolutely thwart any attempts by \\"Taiwan secessionists\\" and external interference.
