Guo Ailun’s 32-Point Explosion Leads Guangzhou Loong Lions to Victory

The Guangzhou Loong Lions dominated the Jilin Northeast Tigers with a commanding 140-117 win in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, marking their second consecutive triumph.

Star player Guo Ailun delivered a spectacular performance, shooting 6-for-6 from beyond the arc to achieve a season-high 32 points, along with five rebounds and seven assists. This marks the first time in 991 days that Guo has scored 30 points in a Chinese Basketball Association regular-season game.

From the outset, Guo showcased his prowess, scoring 11 points in the first eight minutes with a 4-for-5 field goal performance, helping Guangzhou outscore Jilin 38-22 in the first quarter.

After a quieter second quarter, Guo erupted again in the third, hitting all five of his shots to add 14 more points. His exceptional offensive display effectively halted Jilin's rally, led by Dominique Jones, and propelled the Loong Lions to a 25-point lead of 108-83 by the end of the third quarter, diminishing any suspense in the game.

In addition to Guo's stellar performance, eight Guangzhou players reached double-digit points. The team excelled in ball movement, recording an impressive 37 assists.

In another game on the same night, the Shandong Kylins triumphed over the Fujian Sturgeons with a score of 111-92 in Jinan, Shandong Province, handing Fujian their second consecutive loss. Shandong's American duo, Marquese Chriss and Dallas Moore, combined for 51 points and nine steals, while Gao Shiyan contributed 10 assists. Despite Joseph Young leading Fujian with 42 points, Fujian was unable to overturn the deficit.
