China and Tajikistan Pledge Stronger All-Round Cooperation in Chengdu

In a significant move to bolster bilateral relations, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Tajikistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province. The meeting marked a commitment from both nations to deepen all-round cooperation.

Wang Yi emphasized China's support for Tajikistan's pursuit of a development path tailored to its national conditions. He reiterated China's stance against any external interference in Tajikistan's internal affairs, highlighting the importance of mutual respect and sovereignty.

Highlighting the need for tangible outcomes, Wang called on both nations to collaborate effectively to foster development and revitalization. This approach aligns with China's broader strategy of fostering strong, cooperative relationships with its partners.

Expressing gratitude, Muhriddin acknowledged China's unwavering support in improving the livelihoods of the Tajik people. He affirmed Tajikistan's steadfast adherence to the one-China principle and expressed eagerness to enhance all-round cooperation. Additionally, Muhriddin welcomed increased investment from Chinese enterprises into Tajikistan, signaling a positive outlook for future economic collaborations.

This meeting, part of the fifth China-Central Asia Foreign Ministers' Meeting, underscores the growing ties between China and Tajikistan. As both nations navigate the complexities of regional and global dynamics, their strengthened partnership is poised to contribute significantly to their mutual growth and stability.
