Chinese Mainland University Delegation Visits Taiwan Region’s Cultural Sites

A delegation of students and teachers from seven universities in the Chinese mainland embarked on a cultural exploration of the Taiwan region on Thursday, marking the second day of their visit.

In the afternoon, the group toured the Lin An Tai Historical House and Museum, a southern-Fujian-style courtyard with over 200 years of history. This compound has evolved into a cultural hub that highlights southern-Fujian traditions and serves as a center for traditional folk culture. It offers various activities, including first-birthday ceremonies and classes in traditional arts and crafts.

\"We witnessed key moments from traditional Chinese rituals. This place serves not only as a platform for cultural education but also as a vital site for preserving Chinese heritage,\" said Peng Yihang, a student from Tsinghua University.

The delegation also visited the Taipei Confucius Temple, where they delved into Confucius rituals and ceremonial instruments, deepening their understanding of the region's cultural legacy.

Additionally, they engaged in exchange activities at a university, receiving a warm welcome from the local academic community.

Invited by the Taiwan-based Ma Ying-jeou Culture and Education Foundation, the delegation comprises representatives from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Zhejiang University, Fujian Normal University, and Beijing Sport University.
