China and Cambodia Strengthen High-Level Ties for Regional Stability

In a significant move towards enhancing regional peace and stability, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn in Beijing on Thursday.

Wang Yi, a prominent member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized the enduring friendship between China and Cambodia. He highlighted that this bond has withstood various international changes and has now entered a new, robust stage under the strategic leadership of both nations.

The discussions focused on maintaining close high-level exchanges and promoting the construction of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era. Wang Yi stressed the importance of enhancing strategic coordination to address emerging risks and challenges, safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of both countries, and fostering regional peace and stability.

Echoing this sentiment, Prak Sokhonn expressed Cambodia's firm commitment to a friendly policy towards China. He affirmed Cambodia's willingness to enhance political mutual trust, promote practical cooperation, and strengthen diplomatic coordination, aiming to elevate the Cambodia-China friendship to new heights.

This meeting underscores the ongoing dedication of both nations to solidify their partnership and contribute positively to the regional geopolitical landscape.
