Chinese President Xi Jinping has emphasized the importance of supply and marketing cooperatives in fostering high-quality development and strengthening the connection between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and farmers. During his address at the 70th anniversary of the All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, Xi highlighted the pivotal role these cooperatives have played over the past seven decades.
The federation, established in 1954, serves as a key economic organization responsible for managing agricultural production and distribution of agricultural products. Xi praised the cooperatives for their contributions to eradicating absolute poverty, increasing farmers' incomes, and promoting rural revitalization.
He called on Party committees and governments at all levels to enhance their leadership and support for the cooperatives, urging them to build integrated platforms that cater to the needs of farmers and advance modern agricultural development.
Premier Li Qiang echoed Xi's sentiments, advocating for the high-quality development of agricultural supplies, distribution, and the recycling of renewable resources. Vice Premier Liu Guozhong further stressed the importance of supply and marketing cooperatives in bridging urban and rural development, aiming for comprehensive rural revitalization.
The meeting in Beijing underscored the collective commitment to leveraging cooperatives as vital instruments for sustainable agricultural growth and economic stability in rural areas.
