The remains of 43 Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea are set to return to China from the Republic of Korea (ROK) this Thursday.
A majestic Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force Y-20 transport aircraft will carry the solemn repatriation mission, bringing not only the remains but also 495 significant artifacts to Shenyang City in Liaoning Province, northeastern China. The arrival is expected later in the day, marking a poignant moment for the families and the nation.
This event marks the 11th repatriation of CPV martyrs' remains since the historic handover agreement signed between China and the Republic of Korea in 2014. The gesture underscores the enduring respect and remembrance China holds for the soldiers who played a crucial role in the Korean War.
The War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea saw nearly 200,000 CPV soldiers lose their lives, with the majority of the fallen interred on the Korean Peninsula. The ongoing repatriations aim to honor their legacy and provide closure for their descendants.
