Xi and Lee Boost China-Singapore Partnership Ahead of 35th Anniversary

In a significant meeting in Beijing on Tuesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Singapore's Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing China-Singapore cooperation.

President Xi praised Singapore's remarkable achievements under Lee's leadership, highlighting Lee's steadfast support for bilateral collaboration. He emphasized the establishment of a comprehensive, high-quality, and future-oriented partnership last year, which sets a strategic path for deepening ties between the two nations.

With next year marking the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Xi called for increased high-level exchanges and expanded cooperation across various sectors. This, he said, will bring more benefits to both peoples and contribute to regional peace and prosperity.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Suzhou Industrial Park, Xi acknowledged it as a prime example of successful China-Singapore collaboration and a testament to Singapore's integral role in China's reform and opening-up journey.

Looking ahead, President Xi expressed confidence in China's ability to maintain long-term economic growth and high-quality development, inviting Singapore to continue leading in cooperative ventures. He highlighted the importance of leveraging bilateral cooperation mechanisms, advancing major projects, and embracing opportunities in digital and green development to forge a new chapter in China-Singapore relations.

Emphasizing values of solidarity, cooperation, openness, and inclusiveness, Xi affirmed China's readiness to collaborate with Singapore in practicing true multilateralism, safeguarding global fairness and justice, resisting divisive tactics, and building an Asian community with a shared future.
