Slovenia Eyes Stronger Agricultural Partnerships with China

Slovenia is taking significant steps to enhance its agricultural and food industry ties with China, aiming to promote an ecological, healthy, and sustainable lifestyle globally. Mateja Calusic, Slovenia's Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, shared insights with CGTN's Zhang Meng on how both nations can deepen their agricultural trade.

Highlighting Slovenia's unique culinary specialties and premium agricultural products, Calusic emphasized the potential for collaboration in sustainable farming practices and innovative food production. This partnership aligns with China's recent proposal at COP29, which calls for the international community to collectively accelerate the global energy transition in a fair, orderly, and equitable manner.

Calusic also addressed the pressing challenges of climate change, advocating for joint efforts to develop solutions that benefit both Slovenia and China. By leveraging each other's strengths, the two countries aim to create a robust framework for sustainable agricultural growth and environmental stewardship.

This initiative not only strengthens bilateral trade but also contributes to global sustainability goals, showcasing Slovenia's commitment to ecological farming and China's dedication to a fair energy transition.
