Renowned scholar Florence Chia-ying Yeh, also known as Ye Jiaying, has passed away at the age of 100. Yeh dedicated her life to the study and promotion of classical Chinese poetry, leaving an indelible mark on the academic community.

Yeh spent decades at Nankai University in Tianjin, where she was a pillar of the institution. Over her illustrious 70-year career, she passionately taught, researched, and advocated for classical Chinese poetry both within China and on the international stage.

Even in her 90s, Yeh remained active in her academic pursuits, inspiring countless students and scholars. Among her notable mentees are prominent writers Kenneth Hsien-yung Pai and Hsi Mu-jung, who continue to carry forward her legacy.
