Xi Jinping’s Diplomatic Tour: Success at APEC, G20, Peru & Brazil Visits

Chinese President Xi Jinping returned to Beijing after a significant diplomatic tour that included attending the 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and the 19th G20 Summit. His state visits to Peru and Brazil were hailed by the Chinese Foreign Ministry as journeys of solidarity and cooperation, aimed at promoting development and expanding partnerships.

During his 11-day trip, Xi participated in nearly 40 bilateral and multilateral events, resulting in over 60 cooperation documents. His presence at these events emphasized China's commitment to multilateralism and showcased the country's role as a responsible major power.

At the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Lima, Xi delivered a written speech to the CEO summit, urging Asia-Pacific economies to embrace true multilateralism, foster an open and interconnected cooperation paradigm, and leverage green innovation for sustainable growth. He advocated for an inclusive vision for Asia-Pacific development, highlighting China's dedication to global progress.

At the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Xi outlined China's approach to global governance, emphasizing the need for more inclusive and resilient global development. He called for a cooperative, stable, and open world economy, and announced China's eight initiatives for global development, including joining the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty.

Xi's visit to Peru featured the inauguration of Chancay Port, the first smart and green port in South America. This project is expected to generate substantial revenue for Peru and establish a new Asia-Latin America corridor. In Brazil, Xi and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva strengthened their bilateral relations, announcing enhanced cooperation between the Belt and Road Initiative and Brazil's development strategies.

Throughout his trip, Xi held over 10 bilateral meetings, including a notable discussion with U.S. President Joe Biden on the importance of a stable China-U.S. relationship for global stability. He also met with leaders from France, Germany, and Britain, emphasizing long-term strategic partnerships and the importance of resolving differences through dialogue.

Xi's comprehensive efforts during this diplomatic tour underscored China's commitment to high-quality development, openness, and sustainable global partnerships. The Chinese president extended an invitation to all nations to collaborate for peaceful development, mutual prosperity, and the modernization of societies worldwide.
