China Opens Door for U.S. Dialogue and Trade Cooperation

In a significant move towards strengthening bilateral ties, China has expressed its willingness to engage in dialogue and expand cooperation with the United States. This announcement was made by Wang Shouwen, China's International Trade Representative and Vice Minister of Commerce, during a press conference on Friday.

Wang emphasized that the foundation of this cooperation would be built on mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win principles. He highlighted the importance of maintaining balanced, healthy, and sustainable economic and trade relations, which he believes would benefit not only the people of both nations but also the global community.

Addressing the economic dynamics between China and the U.S., Wang pointed out that the two economies are highly complementary. He underscored the critical importance of their relationship, noting that maintaining robust economic ties is aligned with international community expectations.

China is also focusing on its \"dual circulation\" development strategy, which emphasizes strengthening the domestic market while simultaneously leveraging international markets. Wang noted that this approach enhances China's resilience and economic vitality, enabling it to better manage external shocks.

Additionally, Wang cautioned against the practice of raising tariffs on Chinese goods, arguing that such measures do not effectively resolve trade deficits. Instead, they lead to higher prices for imported products and inflation, ultimately placing the burden on consumers.
