The Chinese mainland’s Tianhe Supercomputer Tops Green Graph 500 Ranking

The Chinese mainland’s latest-generation Tianhe supercomputer has secured the top position on the prestigious Big Data Green Graph 500 ranking, announced by the National Supercomputer Center in Tianjin on Wednesday.

First introduced in 2010, the Graph 500 list is internationally recognized for evaluating supercomputers based on their graph computation performance and energy efficiency. The ranking utilizes the MTEPS/W metric, which stands for million traversed edges per second per watt.

Achieving an impressive 6,320.24 MTEPS/W, Tianhe leads the big data category, marking its first ascent to the top since July 2021. This accomplishment highlights significant advancements in handling complex data analysis, positioning Tianhe as a critical tool in the development of next-generation intelligent technologies, according to Meng Xiangfei, chief scientist at the National Supercomputer Center in Tianjin.

With the increasing demand for large-scale data analysis, graph computing has emerged as a vital component of big data and artificial intelligence, making it a focal point of global research and innovation.
