China Supports Hong Kong Judiciary in Safeguarding National Security Amid Foreign Criticism

The Central People's Government has strongly defended the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's (HKSAR) judiciary, emphasizing its commitment to national security and dismissing claims of foreign interference.

A spokesperson from the Office for Safeguarding National Security in HKSAR stated that efforts by external forces, including the United States, to interfere with Hong Kongโ€™s judicial processes are ineffective.

The spokesperson criticized the overuse of the national security label by some countries, accusing them of protecting and praising criminals.

Highlighting the recent case against Benny Tai Yiu-ting and others for \\"conspiracy to subvert state power\\", the spokesperson described it as a coordinated and large-scale criminal activity aimed at undermining government authority.

The central government reaffirmed its dedication to the \\"one country, two systems\\" principle, pledging unwavering support to HKSAR in enforcing the national security law and the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance.
