Opened to the public in 2007, the China National Film Museum in Beijing began construction in 2005 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Chinese film industry. As the largest professional film museum in the world, the museum not only traces the development of China's film industry from the first domestic film in 1905, which is a recording of the Peking Opera 'Dingjun Mountain,' but also explores the latest film technology, spreads film culture and conducts academic research exchanges.
