China is poised to deepen its collaboration with Southeast Asian nations, fostering mutual understanding and driving regional prosperity, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian.
During a press briefing on Monday, Lin highlighted the significant growth in exchanges between China and Southeast Asian countries. This surge reflects a shared desire for solidarity, cooperation, and development, underscoring the robust relationship between China and its neighbors.
Under the guidance of head-of-state diplomacy, both China and Southeast Asian nations have achieved substantial progress in high-quality cooperation. Key infrastructure projects such as the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway, the China-Laos Railway, Malaysia's East Coast Rail Link, and the China-Laos-Thailand international freight train service exemplify this collaborative spirit.
Lin also emphasized the success of visa-free arrangements between China and Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Laos, which have facilitated greater mobility and economic interaction. The implementation of the \"Lancang-Mekong visa\" policy marks another step toward easing travel and strengthening ties.
Maritime cooperation remains a priority, with China and Southeast Asian countries working together to manage maritime differences, enhance cooperation, and develop a code of conduct in the South China Sea. These efforts aim to maintain peace and stability in the region's vital maritime routes.
\"Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific is the shared home of China and neighboring countries. China has all along put the neighborhood as a priority in the overall diplomacy,\" Lin concluded, reaffirming China's commitment to regional harmony and development.
