A vibrant cultural exchange event between China and Peru was held on Friday in Lima, the host city of the 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting. The gathering saw nearly 200 attendees from Peru's political, economic, cultural, academic, and media sectors, highlighting the deepening ties between the two nations.
Organized jointly by China Media Group (CMG), the Office of Strategic Communication and Press Secretary of the Peruvian President's Government, and the National Institute of Radio and Television of Peru, the event was a showcase of collaborative efforts and shared cultural heritage.
In a heartfelt video address, Peruvian President Dina Boluarte emphasized that Peru and China are two ancient civilizations with a profound friendship. She highlighted that the ongoing exchanges and cooperation between the two countries are instrumental in fostering multicultural prosperity and global development.
Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, delivered a compelling speech outlining several key initiatives aimed at deepening cultural ties. He highlighted the feature film \"Historias de ciudades hermanadas: Beijing y Lima,\" part of CGTN's Beauty of Shared Arts series under the \"Dialogues among Civilizations\" program, as well as the upcoming series \"Mutual Learning between Chinese and Peruvian Civilizations.\" These projects represent positive steps taken by CMG and its Latin American partners to promote cultural understanding and exchange.
The event also marked the establishment of new collaborations between CMG and Peru's national publishing group, the University of San Martin de Porres, and the National Center for Higher Studies of Peru. These partnerships will focus on news exchange, academic collaboration, and think tank research, further strengthening the bilateral relationship between China and Peru.
