Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended his congratulations to the 2024 World Chinese Language Conference, which commenced in Beijing on Friday.
In his letter, President Xi also celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Confucius Institute, acknowledging its role in promoting Chinese language and culture globally.
President Xi highlighted that the Chinese language embodies the millennia-old wisdom of Chinese civilization and serves as a significant public cultural product that China has shared with the world. He emphasized China's commitment to supporting the international community in Chinese language education.
Expressing his hopes for the conference, President Xi stated that it would enhance interconnection and integration, build consensus, and foster bridges of linguistic connectivity, understanding, mutual trust, and mutual learning between civilizations. He believes these efforts will contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Themed \"Interconnection, Integration, Inheritance, Innovation,\" the 2024 World Chinese Language Conference is organized by the Chinese Ministry of Education. Running from Friday to Sunday, the conference has attracted over 2,000 participants, including government officials, school principals, experts, scholars, teachers, students, and diplomatic envoys from more than 160 countries and regions.
