China’s Climate Actions Garner Global Praise in Recent Poll

A recent survey conducted by CGTN and Renmin University of China reveals strong global support for China's efforts in climate governance. With 83.5% of 7,658 respondents across 38 countries positively evaluating China's initiatives, the nation is seen as a key player in the fight against climate change.

China has set ambitious goals to peak carbon emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The country has already reduced its carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP by over 65% compared to 2005. Innovations in the energy sector are also noteworthy. As of June 2023, China boasts more than half of the world's new energy vehicles on its roads. Additionally, China leads globally in installed capacity for wind and photovoltaic power. The nation has also prioritized afforestation, ranking first worldwide in the area of planted forests, further enhancing its green credentials.

The survey highlights that 80.3% of respondents believe China has set an example in promoting clean energy infrastructure, while 85.4% appreciate its efforts in afforestation and increasing green coverage. These positive perceptions underscore China's role in driving global sustainability and building a cleaner, more resilient world.
