China Calls for U.S. to Halt Arms to Taiwan, Citing Regional Stability

In a recent development, a spokesperson from the Chinese defense ministry urged the United States to cease providing arms to Taiwan, emphasizing the need to maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

Zhang Xiaogang, representing the Ministry of National Defense, made the statement during a press conference responding to the U.S.'s delivery of HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) units to Taiwan. The U.S. also plans to train Taiwan troops in operating this advanced weaponry.

Zhang attributed the U.S. actions to the Taiwanese Democratic Progressive Party authorities, accusing them of prioritizing political interests over the well-being of Taiwan's residents and seeking external support for \"Taiwan independence.\"

\"Such behaviors will only push Taiwan closer to the brink of war,\" Zhang warned, adding that the People's Liberation Army is set to enhance its combat readiness to counter any attempts at dismantling cross-strait peace and external interference.

As tensions escalate, global citizens, business leaders, and policymakers watch closely, recognizing the implications for international relations and regional security.
