A recent survey conducted by CGTN and Renmin University of China through the New Era Institute of International Communication (NEIIC) has unveiled a powerful global consensus on the urgent need to tackle climate change. The study highlights that developing countries are showing particularly high levels of resolve and commitment to embracing green solutions.
With a comprehensive sample of 7,658 respondents across 38 countries, the survey underscores the willingness among developing nations to intensify efforts against the accelerating climate crisis. A significant 90.3 percent of participants emphasized the urgency of addressing climate change, calling for enhanced global cooperation and practical steps to mitigate its impact.
The findings also reveal widespread concern over severe extreme weather events, such as heat waves, hurricanes, and floods. An overwhelming 90.4 percent of global respondents believe that the frequency of these extreme events has rapidly increased in recent years, while 87.3 percent feel that these occurrences reflect a rapid deterioration in the global climate. Furthermore, 89.8 percent expressed that they are \"very concerned\" or \"concerned\" about issues related to climate governance.
