China and UN Women Collaborate to Advance Global Women’s Empowerment

In a significant move towards enhancing global women's empowerment, Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin met with UN Under-Secretary-General and UN Women Executive Director Sima Bahous in Beijing on Thursday. The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to jointly promote the global women's cause.

Highlighting the remarkable progress in advancing women's rights within the Chinese mainland, Shen emphasized that women have become pivotal drivers in China's modernization journey. She expressed China's commitment to collaborating with UN Women to further develop initiatives that support women worldwide and to build a community with a shared future for humanity.

Sima Bahous acknowledged China's substantial contributions to the international women's movement. She conveyed UN Women's intention to foster deeper cooperation with China and expressed hope that China would share its valuable experiences in this domain with the global community.
