President Xi Jinping Champions Asia-Pacific Prosperity at APEC Lima Meeting

The Asia-Pacific region (APAC), a time-honored hub of global commerce, culture, and politics, is once again in the spotlight as world leaders converge in Lima, Peru, for the 31st Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to attend the 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Lima and will pay a state visit to Peru from November 13 to 17. This visit underscores China's commitment to fostering stronger ties within the Asia-Pacific community.

Reflecting on his vision for the region, President Xi reiterated a statement from the 2014 APEC meeting: \"We are duty-bound to create and fulfill an Asia-Pacific dream for our people. This dream is about acting in the spirit of the Asia-Pacific community and out of a sense of shared destinies, following the trend of our times: peace, development and mutually beneficial cooperation and jointly working for the prosperity and progress of our region.\"

He emphasized that this vision aims to stay ahead of global development trends and make a greater contribution to the well-being of mankind. Key aspects of his vision include enhancing economic vibrancy, promoting free trade and investment facilitation, improving infrastructure such as roads, and fostering closer people-to-people exchanges.

Moreover, President Xi highlighted the importance of ensuring greater security and prosperity for the people and creating a better environment for future generations to grow, work, and live. His leadership at the APEC meeting is expected to drive initiatives that align with these goals, promoting sustainable and inclusive growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
