Chinese President Xi Jinping extended his congratulations to the Global South Media and Think Tank Forum during its kickoff in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
In his message, Xi highlighted the growing momentum of the Global South and its increasing role in advancing human progress. He affirmed China’s longstanding membership in the Global South and its commitment to the developing world.
Xi emphasized China’s willingness to collaborate with Global South countries to promote true multilateralism, advocate for an equal and orderly multipolar world, and support universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization. He underscored the shared mission of pursuing modernization and striving for a more just and equitable international order.
Addressing the forum participants, Xi encouraged in-depth discussions, consensus-building, and amplifying the voice and commitment of the Global South. He also called for contributions that would empower the Global South to become a stabilizing force for peace, a backbone of openness and development, a constructive player in global governance, and a catalyst for mutual learning among civilizations.
The forum, co-hosted by Xinhua News Agency and the Brazil Communication Company, adopted the theme \"Development and Revitalization: A New Journey for the Global South.\" Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva also sent a congratulatory message, underscoring the collaborative spirit of the event.
