Lin Shidong Secures Spot in WTT Champions Frankfurt Final After Thrilling Semifinal Victory

Lin Shidong of the Chinese mainland advanced to the men's singles final at the WTT Champions Frankfurt in Germany, defeating Lin Yun-ju of Chinese Taipei in a closely contested semifinal match with scores of 11-9, 13-11, 11-2, 11-8.

The first game was tightly fought, with Lin Yun-ju leading 5-4 before Shidong surged with five consecutive points to secure the game, taking an early 1-0 lead in the match.

In the second game, Shidong opened with a 4-1 advantage, but Lin Yun-ju fought back by scoring five straight points, tying the game at 9-9. Demonstrating his clutch performance, Shidong outplayed his opponent, extending his match lead to 2-0.

Maintaining his momentum, Shidong dominated the third game with sharp attacks, allowing Lin Yun-ju to only score two points after trailing 3-2, resulting in a swift loss.

However, Lin Yun-ju regained his form in the fourth game, keeping the competition alive as the score reached 7-7. Shidong responded with three consecutive points, inching closer to victory. Despite Lin Yun-ju saving one match point, Shidong ultimately sealed his spot in the final against Anton Kallberg of Sweden.

In the women's singles, Chinese players Wang Manyu and Wang Yidi have both secured their places in the final. Wang Manyu triumphed over compatriot Chen Xingtong with scores of 7-11, 11-4, 11-9, 11-2, 11-5. Meanwhile, Wang Yidi edged out Japanese favorite Miwa Harimoto with a scoreline of 11-5, 8-11, 11-6, 7-11, 11-9, 11-7.
