Ding Junhui Secures Spot in WST International Championship Final

In a thrilling semifinal match at the World Snooker Tour (WST) International Championship in Nanjing, Ding Junhui of China showcased his remarkable resilience by overcoming a 5-3 deficit to defeat his compatriot Xu Si 9-6 on Saturday. This victory sets the stage for Ding to face England's Chris Wakelin in the final on Sunday.

The match kicked off with Xu Si in impressive form, winning the first three frames with impressive breaks of 69, 137, and 113. Despite Ding's strong responses with breaks of 119 and 77, Xu maintained his lead, ending the first session at 5-3.

Determined to turn the tide, Ding's performance surged in the evening session. He claimed three consecutive frames, taking a 6-5 lead. Although Xu tied the match again, a crucial missed long pot by Xu on the final green allowed Ding to regain the upper hand at 7-6.

The momentum continued in Ding's favor as Xu failed to capitalize on key opportunities, including a missed red in the 14th frame, which Ding won with a break of 66. In the decisive 15th frame, Xu missed a targeted red, enabling Ding to complete a run of 58 and secure his place in the final.

Fans around the world are eagerly anticipating the final clash between Ding Junhui and Chris Wakelin, promising an exciting conclusion to the WST International Championship.
