Chinese Legislator Calls for Global Solidarity at G20 Summit in Brazil

In a bid to foster international collaboration, Wu Weihua, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of China, emphasized the importance of global solidarity at the 10th G20 Parliamentary Speakers' Summit held recently in Brasilia, Brazil.

Addressing delegates from G20 nations during the three-day summit from November 6 to 8, Wu highlighted that the world is experiencing profound changes unlike anything seen in the past century. He urged member countries to strengthen their cooperation and unity to effectively tackle contemporary global challenges.

During the summit, Wu engaged in discussions with Brazilian Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco and Arthur Lira, president of the Chamber of Deputies. He underscored the progress of the China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership, noting its sound and stable advancement under the guidance of the respective heads of state.

Wu also expressed the NPC's readiness to deepen multi-level and multi-sector exchanges and cooperation with Brazil's Congress, aiming to elevate bilateral relations to new heights. In response, Brazilian officials reaffirmed their commitment to the one-China policy and expressed dedication to furthering Brazil-China relations across various fields.

The summit served as a platform for both nations to reinforce their strategic partnership, emphasizing mutual growth and collaborative efforts in addressing global issues.
