The Chinese mainland proudly unveiled its latest advancement in military aviation, the J-15D fighter jet, during an adaptive training session in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, on November 9.
The J-15D is a two-seat electronic warfare aircraft that integrates sophisticated electronic jamming capabilities with strike functionalities. This dual-role design is expected to play a pivotal role in securing air superiority for aircraft carrier battle groups.
Naval military expert Li Jian highlighted that the J-15D boasts significant enhancements over the standard J-15. These upgrades include advanced avionics, enhanced weapons systems, and an optimized airframe structure. Such modifications are aimed at boosting combat performance and ensuring better compatibility with the Chinese mainland's newer aircraft carriers.
The introduction of the J-15D sets the stage for the upcoming 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, also known as Airshow China or the Zhuhai Airshow, scheduled to take place from November 12 to 17 in Zhuhai. The event is anticipated to showcase a range of cutting-edge aerospace technologies and foster international collaboration.
