With just one year remaining, the 15th China National Games are on track to become a landmark event in 2025. Scheduled from November 9 to 21, this edition marks the first time Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao will collaboratively host the Games, showcasing a unified effort across these regions.
The National Games, held quadrennially, stand as the premier multi-sport event in China, featuring 34 major events and 401 smaller competitions. Highlighting the Games, the men's road cycling individual trial will connect Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, while the marathon will link Shenzhen and Hong Kong, symbolizing regional integration.
Preparations are progressing smoothly, with Guangzhou and Shenzhen finalizing plans for the opening and closing ceremonies. Key elements such as the torch relay design, logo collection, and transportation logistics are well underway. Volunteer recruitment began this month, with training scheduled to start in January.
Emphasizing sustainability, organizers are committed to a green approach. Cui Jian, Vice Chief of the Guangdong Competition Zone Executive Committee, stated, \"We are implementing the idea of energy conservation, environment protection and sustainable development throughout the whole process for holding the Games.\" This includes renovating existing stadiums to be green and low-carbon by March and planning for venue re-use post-Games to support national fitness initiatives.
