In a significant diplomatic meeting in Beijing on Saturday, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto discussed the deepening of China-Indonesia relations. Premier Li emphasized that the bilateral relationship has entered a new phase focused on building a community with a shared future through joint efforts.
Li highlighted China's dedication to being a reliable neighbor and partner to Indonesia. He outlined plans to implement the consensus reached by both leaders, enhance traditional friendships, deepen political mutual trust, and expand practical cooperation. These initiatives aim to support both nations in their modernization pursuits and contribute to regional and global stability.
The discussions also covered economic collaboration, with a focus on expanding bilateral trade and investment. Both leaders explored opportunities in green minerals, photovoltaic wind power, the digital economy, marine scientific research, and environmental protection. Such cooperation is expected to boost development momentum in both countries.
Pioneer communication on multilateral platforms was another key topic. Premier Li expressed China's willingness to work closely with Indonesia in forums like the United Nations, advocating for true multilateralism, safeguarding international equity and justice, and protecting the interests of developing nations.
President Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to the one-China principle and supported China's stance on issues related to Xinjiang, viewing them as internal affairs. He looked forward to leveraging the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year to enhance exchanges, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and advance key projects such as the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway.
