Air China's latest domestically built C919 aircraft took center stage in Macao on Thursday, landing smoothly at Macao International Airport adorned with the Chinese national flag and receiving a ceremonial water salute. This special flight, designated CA088, was part of the 13th Macao Business Aviation Exhibition, where the C919 will be showcased for four days.
The event marks a dual celebration: the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to China. Captain Hao Xin, deputy chief of Air China's C919 flight squadron, highlighted the aircraft's growing role in their fleet. Since the introduction of the first C919 in August, Air China has successfully operated crucial routes like Beijing-Shanghai and Beijing-Hangzhou, with plans to expand further to destinations such as Beijing-Wuhan in the near future.
The C919 dispatched to Macao is the second received by Air China, delivered on November 5. The inaugural C919 was delivered on August 29 and commenced commercial service on September 10, marking a significant step in China's domestic aviation capabilities.
