The Liaoning Flying Leopards triumphed over the Fujian Sturgeons with a final score of 116-100 in Quanzhou, securing their seventh victory of the season and maintaining their lead in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
Key performances came from Wang Lanqin, Fu Hao, and Kyle Fogg, each scoring over 20 points. Wang led the team with 23 points, six assists, and two steals. Han Dejun showcased his prowess in the paint, shooting 7-for-8 from the field to record a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
The game was tightly contested in the first half, with the visitors leading by just two points at halftime, 58-56. Both teams initially kept their defenses loose, tightening up in the second quarter. Liaoning managed to outscore Fujian by one point in both quarters, keeping the scoreline close.
The turning point came four minutes into the third quarter when Fujian experienced a prolonged field goal drought, allowing Liaoning to launch a 17-0 run. Despite Fujian calling a timeout to regain composure, Liaoning extended their lead to 17 points, ending the quarter at 87-70.
In the fourth quarter, Liaoning maintained their dominance with a lead of at least 15 points, thanks to strong finishes by Han, Fu, and Wang. While Joseph Young attempted to rally Fujian with a series of isolation plays, Liaoning's versatile offense proved too strong. Young ended up scoring a game-high 24 points off the bench, and Li Yiyang contributed with a double-double of 15 points and 10 assists.
