China is gearing up to showcase its athletic prowess as it prepares to send more than 170 athletes to compete in the 2025 Asian Winter Games, set to take place in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, from February 7 to 14, 2025.
With the 100-day countdown now underway, the organizing committee revealed promising updates during a recent press conference. Athletes from 34 countries and regions have registered for over 1,500 spots, participating in a total of 64 events across six sports disciplines.
As the host nation, China will ensure representation in every event, demonstrating its commitment to excellence and sportsmanship. The games will be held across 13 venues, five in Harbin for ice competitions and eight in Yabuli dedicated to snow events.
Highlighting the eventโs sustainability, Han Shengjian, vice governor of Heilongjiang Province, emphasized the implementation of environment-friendly and low-carbon technologies in transforming existing venues.
The 2025 Asian Winter Games will also see Japan and South Korea competing in all 64 events, while Cambodia and Saudi Arabia make their debut appearances, marking a historic moment for the Games.
With state-of-the-art facilities and a focus on sustainability, the Harbin Winter Games promise to be a memorable celebration of global winter sports.
