China and Finland Forge Stronger Ties in Landmark Meeting

In a significant diplomatic engagement, Zhao Leji, China's top legislator and chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb in Beijing on Tuesday. Celebrating 74 years of diplomatic relations, both nations highlighted the robust momentum of their partnership, serving as a model of peaceful coexistence and friendly exchanges across diverse cultures and systems.

Zhao emphasized China's commitment to deepening strategic mutual trust, enhancing cooperation, and fostering people-to-people exchanges. He outlined plans to boost multilateral coordination, ensuring the steady and long-term development of a future-oriented new-type cooperative partnership between the two countries.

President Stubb echoed these sentiments, stating that Finland values its relationship with China and is keen on expanding collaborations across various fields. He highlighted the importance of legislative exchanges to support multilateralism and free trade, aiming to jointly address global challenges.

This meeting marks a continued effort from both legislative bodies to strengthen ties, exchange governance experiences, and contribute to the evolving China-Finland relations.
